Single-player open-world space RPG
ELEX II represents the next chapter in the widely acclaimed ELEX franchise. However, this new iteration offers a number of in-game improvements that should appeal to fans of the original chapter.
ELEX II is once again set in the mythical world of Magalan. After the hybrids were successfully defeated, it was thought that this domain would finally enjoy peace. Unfortunately, the realm now faces a new threat from a race known as the Skyands. The player will have to defend this domain in order to restore balance.
Open-world exploration
A sizeable portion of this game involves exploring a vast open-world environment. There are also new options, such as the ability to fly to different locations through the use of a jetpack. This is a nice feature for those who enjoy typical RTS strategies, such as grinding and resource farming.
A player-influenced storyline
Similar to the original ELEX, the decisions that players make will determine the outcome of the game. This is why individuals can choose if they wish to join a faction or participate in a solo campaign. Conversations with other NPCs will also influence how the storyline unfolds.
Reworked combat tactics
It is also possible to obtain unique skills that were not available in the first series. This is particularly the case in regard to advanced melee attacks. There are a host of impressive firearms to adopt as one progresses.
The sequel to a well-received original
ELEX II attempts to capitalize on the popularity associated with the original ELEX. Considering the fact that these are the very same developers who have created other well-known games, such as Risen, most players should be impressed with the aforementioned improvements.
